I am a philosopher and cognitive scientist, writer and researcher, public speaker and teacher. My work is interdisciplinary, including philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, vision science, AI and Artificial Life research, and humanist studies. I strive to do this kind of work in ways that reach specialists, students, and popular audiences alike. Ideas should be available, unifying not alienating. They should make our lives better while illuminating the virtues we already have.

I am a Senior Researcher in the Chair of Metaphysics at LMU Munich. Previously I have researched and taught at the University of Sussex, the University of Toronto, and the University of Utah.
